History

The Faculty of Law at İstanbul Kultur University started to provide education under the founding deanship of Prof. Dr. Tayfun AKGÜNER in 1999. Prof. Dr. Atilla ALTOP, who was appointed as the Dean after Tayfun AKGÜNER in 2004, continued to serve until the 2005-2006 academic year. Prof. Dr. İlhan ULUSAN, who started to work as the Dean in the 2005-2006 academic year, continued to serve until the end of the 2008-2009 academic year, and finally Prof. Dr. Bahri ÖZTÜRK was appointed in the 2009-2010 academic year.
 

Our Faculty, which set out on its academic journey with 118 undergraduate students in the 1999-2000 academic year, produced its first graduates at the end of the 2002-2003 academic year. Our faculty, which continues to provide undergraduate education with 905 students today in the 2012-2013 academic year, started to offer postgraduate (master's and doctoral) education in public law and private law in 2003. Our faculty is located on the Şirinevler Campus, one of the three main campuses of İstanbul Kultur University. At the Şirinevler Campus, associate degree education is provided under the Vocational School of Law, undergraduate education is provided under the Faculty of Law, and graduate studies and doctoral studies are provided under the Institute of Social Sciences. Our faculty, which aims to educate prospective lawyers who are qualified and possess sufficient knowledge in theory and practice, has become one of the leading higher education institutions in the country with its large and qualified academic staff.
