The "Educational Engineer Fahamettin Akıngüç Commemoration Book" by FasİKUl magazine, which was prepared with the 43 academic works of all the academics of the İKU Faculty of Law, was presented to our honorary chairman with a ceremony held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Fahamettin Akıngüç Auditorium of the Faculty of Law.
The İstanbul Kultur University Criminal Law Practice and Research Center (CEHAMER) celebrated the 10th year and 100th issue of its official publication FasİKUl magazine, which was first published in 2009, with the Commemoration Book dedicated to Honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees Civil Engineer (M.Sc.) Fahamettin Akıngüç. Dean of the İKU Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Dr. Hc. mult. Bahri Öztürk opened the ceremony, during which Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Güzel and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Bahar Akıngüç Günver shared their messages about the meaning and importance of the day. Stating that they deeply felt the moral and material support of Honorary Chairman Civil Engineer (M.Sc.) Fahamettin Akıngüç in the respected position of the İKU Faculty of Law and CEHAMER in Turkey, Dean of the İKU Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Bahri Öztürk expressed that the 10th year and 100th issue of FasİKUl magazine pays a debt of gratitude in this regard.
Sharing his message about the significance and importance of the day after Prof. Dr. Dr. hc. mult. Öztürk, Prof. Dr. Erhan Güzel said the following: "It is no coincidence that we have seen Fahamettin Akıngüç’s name in almost every step of the last 58 years when we look at the history of our country's national education. In fact, this is a success story that has broken grounds in education and has given education a dynamism. This achievement is an indicator of the extraordinary effort put forth by an engineer in social science, an intellectual in social relations, in almost every phase and without any compromise of the basic principles of the Republic, and Atatürk's principles and reforms. In this regard, I’d like to express my gratitude to Fahamettin Akıngüç for this gift."
Speaking at the ceremony, İKU Chairman of the Board of Trustees Bahar Akıngüç Günver stated that the Faculty of Law carries out its activities on voluntary basis, and that their love for science, ethics and students was a determinant in their success. In her speech, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Bahar Akıngüç Günver said: "Culture is a service offered with heartfelt effort by our Honorary Chairman Civil Engineer (M.Sc.) Fahamettin Akıngüç to students and National Education in Turkey, a gift to children and young people. The value of this gift can only be recognized through actions, not words . The Faculty of Law has always demonstrated that it is aware of the value of this gift in different ways, including through the FasİKUl magazine which reached its hundredth issue, the Human Rights Academy held in the first week of April, and quality of lawyers trained at CEHAMER. I would like to thank the distinguished academic and administrative staff of the Faculty of Law and our Dean Prof. Dr. Dr. hc. mult. Bahri Öztürk, who never compromises working principles and effort, love for students and ethics, and most importantly the voluntary basis regardless of the conditions.
